With its soft reddish-brown to deep cinnamon heartwood and contrasting pale sapwood, Sugi features a bold, straight grain with distinctive tight knots (Near clear grade is also available) that create a striking finish.
Naturally rich in oils, Sugi offers excellent resistance to moisture, decay, and insects, while remaining remarkably lightweight and stable. Traditionally used in Japan for temples, shrines and residential builds, it performs beautifully in Australian conditions — perfect for sauna, feature walls, ceilings, soffits, windows, external screening, or full cladding systems.
