How Every Kosny Screen Is Built
When your samples arrive, look at the end grain — you'll see each batten is one solid piece of kiln-dried hardwood, with no finger joints or glued-up offcuts anywhere. That's why our screens stay straight and stable in the weather. Battens are 42mm x 19mm (32mm x 19mm on Spotted Gum), fixed to 42mm x 19mm hardwood rails with galvanised screws — we don't use stainless, because stainless can harden and snap in dense hardwood, and galvanised is simply stronger.
